Hello! It’s been quite a while since I had last posted, and we’ve had some changes since then. Welcome 2023! I’m excited for this year. In 2022 my company had a great year, and I’m optimistic that 2023 will also be just as great. In 2020, I took a huge hit with Covid 19 seriously affecting the business. Almost all of my weddings that were planned for 2020 got canceled, and some got rescheduled. My couples were devastated and so was I. Mentally I was destroyed, and I almost gave up my business entirely.
I spent the next few months reflecting and thinking about what was going to be next, where did I want to be, how did I want to grow etc.
I decided to take all of that and simply rebuild and renew. My business got a new name, Rose & Calla Event Planning & Design Company, and I am so happy I did. The new business name brought new light. The new name better explains what we are, which is a planning and designing company for weddings and other life events. Roses and calla lilies are my favorite flowers, I even had them in my own wedding. I wanted the new business name to represent me, but not have my name in it. So I thought, I love roses and calla lilies, and my first and middle names are Renee Christine, and that’s how I came up with Rose & Calla Event Planning & Design Company. Rose represents Renee, and Calla represents Christine, and roses and calla lilies are elegant flowers for weddings and other life events.
In 2021 I didn’t have many weddings or events, so I continued to rebuild and work on my “To Have & To Hold Box” more. I got my first subscriber and really enjoyed sending that bride monthly gifts and planning advice for her wedding. She subscribed for 12 months, so she received 12 boxes. I was optimistic to get more subscribers, but it just didn’t work out that way, but I did enjoy at least sending the box to my 1 bride. And now I’m fine tuning the box with what’s included and a clear understanding of why a bride would want the box and how it can benefit her. The To Have & To Hold Box is relaunching in a couple weeks, so stay tuned to hear when that will be.
In 2022 I had the best year in business. I had more weddings in one year than I had had in the past, and I really enjoyed all the couples I got to meet and help with their weddings.
And now we’re in 2023, and so far the year is turning out great. I have weddings booked, I’m participating in 2 bridal shows this month and 1 next month. Out of all the weddings I’m planning for this year, the first one will be in May.
Well, that’s all the updates for now. I’m hoping to continue to post and share weddings, advice and some other stuff throughout the year. Stay tuned.
