A Bride’s Interview with Renee Krejci

Please take a moment to read this before hiring Renee and her wedding planning team.
How long have you been doing what you do and how did you become a wedding planner?
I have been planning weddings professionally since 2006. I got my taste in planning due to having lots of cousins and helping set up and/or decorate for communion/confirmation parties, grad parties, and baby and bridal showers. I also was in charge in running fund raising events for my church. People would tell me I should get into being a planner as a business. I then researched how to become one, received my education and training and then started. I received my certification in February 2006 and then started my business in September 2006. That’s the short story, lol.
We love your wedding planning services and portfolio. Everything sounds great…So, can you tell me what really sets you apart from all the other wedding planners out there?
Well, I don’t know what makes me different from the other wedding planners in the area, because I don’t know how they run things. I can say they are acquaintances and we all have mutual respect for each other. What I can say about me, that may differ from the others is, is that I am a Christian and that I follow Judeo-Christian values. What that means is, is that I am honest, respectful, kind, friendly, and professional. If I do make a mistake, I will own up to it and apologize, and try to correct it. My purpose is to serve others, and as a wedding planner I do just that, serve others.
I love the clients I serve. Each client is special and unique and getting to know them is the best part. I value their opinions and wishes. I value their beliefs and choices.
You don’t have to believe what I believe to work with me. I work with all people.
This all sounds so wonderful. But, it also seems expensive. Are we going to be able to afford all this?
I’ve read many times that the average bride takes several hundred hours to plan her wedding. And, in some cases it takes up to 400 hours. That’s like TEN 40 hour work weeks. Does that sound overwhelming to you? It would to me if I were a bride.
It may seem expensive when you just see a number. However, this is my business, my job. I make a living doing this. I have a family, a house, bills, and a business to run. I know that sounds harsh.
If you hire me and my team, we put in those hundreds of hours organizing, planning, emailing, researching etc. We will spend more time with you than any other wedding professional that you hire.
So, truly think about what your dream wedding looks like and what that means to you. We can chat about it further. It is a big and important decision. I’ll be right here to talk about it all, and guide you into making the right decision.
Who do you work best with?
I work best with people who first off respect me. I will be spending a lot of time with each client, and if you don’t respect me, we won’t work out. I work best with people who let me do what they hired me to do. I can’t work with someone who undermines me or micromanages me. I am always “Team You” to each client and I will NOT do anything that is not what they want. Their wedding day is THEIR wedding day. I want to make their day just as special as they want it to be.
Will I lose control of my own wedding if you are planning it for me?
Absolutely NOT. Only a bad wedding planner will take control away from you. As I mentioned earlier, I am TEAM YOU. My job as your wedding planner is to be an extension of you. We are a team. You will make all final decisions. YOU are my focus. It’s YOUR day, not mine.
Will you work with the vendors I’ve already found or people I really want to work with?
Yes, absolutely. We definitely will work with your hired wedding professionals and make sure that they are the right fit for you. However, we do have a list of awesome wedding pros that we recommend and love working with if you can’t find someone or need guidance in that area.
Do you take credit cards and can we have a payment plan?
Yes I take credit cards. However, credit card payments also add fees, so I don’t always like credit card payments, but I do accept them to help clients out.
Yes, you can have a payment plan. I do like offering that to my clients.
Do you have Liability Insurance?
Yes. I do have liability insurance which allows us to work confidently everywhere. So far, we have never needed it, but it’s always good to be prepared.
Do you take more than one wedding per day?
No, we do not take on more than one wedding per day. We actually don’t even take more than one wedding a weekend.
We did do two weddings in a weekend back in 2012, but that was for two sisters who wanted to get married the same weekend. They chose the same venue and the same vendors. One sister got married on that Saturday, and the other sister got married that Sunday. It worked out really well, but that was an exception to our rule.
We also love just focusing on our client. We feel it’s better quality to only handle one wedding/event at a time.
This sounds like everything we’ve been looking for. What happens next to start the wedding planning process?
That’s awesome! The next step is for you to call me at (540)327-8426 or you can also email me at hello@roseandcallaevents.com to set up a “Get Acquainted” complimentary session. I want to hear all about your vision and ideas for your dream wedding and what that “looks” like to you on your day.
I’ll be happy to take you through our packages to see which one fits best for you, to show you more of our portfolio, and to describe our process in more detail.
May we contact some of your former clients to see what it’s like to work with you?
Yes!! Our clients and even some of their families have become raving fans of our wedding planning services and love to speak to other potential brides about their experience with Rose & Calla Event Planning & Design Co. You can also look at our testimonials here to get some idea of what we’re like. You can also check out testimonials on The Knot and Wedding Wire.
We have a couple more questions before getting started…can I call you to discuss this further?
Absolutely!! I’ll be happy to talk to you further. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. You can call me at (540)327-8426. I can’t wait to meet you!! Congratulations on your engagement!
